Meet the Together in Barnet team

 

Darren Haringman - Co-Chair

Darren became the Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees in May 2020. Previously Darren was a Together in Barnet volunteer at his local venue for several years and joined the Together in Barnet Board of Trustees in 2017 with responsibility for fundraising and the upgrade and maintenance of Together in Barnet’s Website. Darren lives locally in the Borough of Barnet and is passionate about reducing the number of homeless people on the streets of Barnet and helping people to active their full potential. 

SIMON RUBINSOHN - Co-Chair

Simon is an economist who currently works for RICS where he is involved in a range of issues around housing. He has until recently also been a non executive director for the housing association, L&Q.  He first became involved as a volunteer with Together in Barnet in 2012. He has a particular interest in policy around homelessness and is responsible for overseeing governance within the charity.


Marcin Nocek – Operations manager

Marcin has been involved with Together in Barnet since August 2022 as the Operations Manager. He has been working in charitable sector since 2015 helping vulnerable homeless people in London Boroughs of Barnet, Lambeth, Hammersmith and Fulham. He is committed to making a difference in local community.

Elliott Karstadt - Trustee

Elliott is a Rabbi at Alyth North Western Reform Synagogue (one of the venues for Together in Barnet). For four years he was coordinator of the Night Shelter at Finchley Progressive Synagogue before becoming a trustee of Together in Barnet in April 2016. Elliott served as Chair from December 2018 to June 2020, and continues to help organise the charity’s response to Covid-19. Elliott sees tikkun olam (Hebrew for 'repairing the world') as an integral part of Judaism, and this is a key reason for his involvement with the Night Shelter.


Jeremy Shapiro - Trustee

Jeremy works in graphic design, video and photography. He spent over eighteen years in the security industry, and has freelanced for clients from stately houses, to comedy, tourism and health & wellbeing. He joined the charity in 2019 as a trustee, having previously been involved with a charity for South African children with disabilities. He has had work experience in various areas including theatre, television, film, music, welding and ice-cream.

Jacky Megitt – Trustee

Jacky, a medical doctor on a career break,  became involved with Together in Barnet three years ago, having previously worked for soup kitchens in both Manchester and Central London for many years. Initially engaging as a volunteer and fundraiser at her local night shelter; and joined the Board of Trustees in March 2020 - with a specific focus on fundraising.


Lisa Bard – Trustee & Secretary

Lisa, an IT Project Manager, first became involved with HAB & TiB as a volunteer at the Christmas Shelter and then volunteered at HRS. After that, she established the night shelter in her own community at EHRS in 2019. When the pandemic hit, she took in donations from her local area and delivered care packages to TiB’s clients in temporary accommodation. She joined us as Trustee & Secretary in November 2020.
